Well since we can't comment on today's post (1/24/14) I'll post on this one. I can not believe that that it is colder today with just the temperature then yesterday and you are only delaying classes by 2 hours. Every other school around us has closed and you expect these kids to stand at bus stops or walk to school in temperatures that could cause frostbite. This is utterly ridiculous!!!

Mr. Edington, You should be ashamed at your decision today. I think YOU should be made to stand outdoors for at LEAST 15 minutes as most of these children do that do not have a stop in the front of their homes and have to travel to a group meeting spot for a bus. You sir are an embisal. Hopefully the local news stations contact you to ask why you had your students in school today...unlike ANY other school in the area.

I think its ok to send kids to school. Wawasee not the only kids in school Fri and many went Thurs when we were closed. You don't want your kids walking or waiting for bus take them to school find a ride or you can keep them home. If you don't want you kids in school just call them off. Not all parents are mad about decision.

I didn't think it was necessary to have a cancelation yesterday and I was alright about sending my kids to school today, I just made other arrangements of being a car rider instead of bus rider. I am not mad at all about the delay. I am just upset that the poor third graders have too go without going to the circus today. But then again, I have also learned not to even try and understand the reasoning behind canceling and delaying. I just learn to go with the flow and be grown up about the decisions and chose accordingly.

How dare you be more upset about the poor 3rd graders missing the circus, but send them to school anyway.

I happened to pick up a student walking to the high school this morning and Thank God I did! There was a train coming and he could have froze waiting for it to pass.

I think you need to have a website where parents and students can comment all the time, not just when you feel we should. What are you afraid of, the truth?

Why not put your names on your post, who are you hiding from?

To the person more upset about her 3rd grader missing the circus, why didn't you take them yourself?

To Jackie...um, yeah might want to reread my thing but I didn't say I had a third grader and YES, I did end up taking my kids to the circus. I guess I am more concerned about the education of these kids then other people cause as a kid I would still go to school in these kinds of weather conditions. I wouldn't go picking up compete strangers kids on the side of the road either cause someone talked to my kid about taking them to school and I told their school how I was not happy and how very disrespectful that was. I was just commenting because I was tired of reading parents bashing Mr.Edingtoms decisions. Aren't we to teach our kids to respect the authorities? He is in charge and he works with a number of others to make the best choice for our kids and I stand behind him and our educators. I guess it's because I worked in a school system that I understand theses things better. Oh and by the way, I am not hiding from anything. My name is Erin. I want to see these kids be educated to the best of their abilities and grow up to be leaders.
I am all for if a parent feels they need to keep their kids home, their right as the parent but keep them home, don't attack the person making the decisions for five schools. And please be grown up and don't attack someone else. I was merely stating my opinion and now defending myself.
SO...one last thing on the actual topic, thank you Mr. Edington for what you do for Wawasee schools!

For your information the young man I picked up was not a stranger, we know him! You, however I would leave sitting on the side of the road!
