I honestly do not understand why you would cancel school again today. I lived in Wyoming for many years and it gets much colder than here and they always have school.

okay for one this is indiana and two if you've read this blog recently the cancellation is probably going to be the buses again.

why does the home page still say 2 hour delay @ 8:00 !!

Doc you might want to check your posting times again I think they've went out again. I don't think Mrs. Swratzendruber posted the cancellation at 4 something this morning.

They have buses in Wyoming too! I used to drive them.

Was Wawasee the very last school to call for a cancellation?

Anonymous #2, I do not want to sound aggrivated, but to people who are not use to this cold of weather... (my mother remembers -80 windchill)... it can be just as miserable. This temperature may not be *as* dangerous as Wyoming's winter temperatures, but it is still dangerous.

Thank you Doctor Stock for the closing.

we shoulnd't need to go to school tomorrow. the weather isnt' out fault.

Ok honestly people should seriously stop complaining we got the cancellation so there's nothing anyone can do about it so stop dragging out things that we have no control over..

I am not complaining just bringing up a point!

Doc. Stock or Joy Swartzentruber, I was going to have the Core 40 exam Monday and today; so I am just wondering if we will start taking it tomorrow or not? Please email me at stevocavender@hotmail.com and tell me about the exam. Thanks.

Just curious as to why we we're not having early release tomorrow if we're already having days set to make up today and yesterday?

okay,i had to call the school(a little after 8)because tv still said delay..and i had already checked here.the elementary said they had just themselves been called only 5 minutes before...WOW.

"Just curious as to why we we're not having early release tomorrow if we're already having days set to make up today and yesterday? "

Probably as the second make up day does not come in the 2nd trimester so to make it up in this the 2nd tri- we are going all day tommorow. Otherwise an entire day would be lost, now we get a couple hours back.

I cannot speak for Joy, but the second makeup day is in March (third trimester). I would guess that we are having a full day tomorrow to help us finish the work that still needs to be completed for the second trimester, especially Core 40 testing.

Is there any word on the girls sectional game scheduled for tonight?

Anonymous said...

I have a question so we dont have to come to school on the 26th of febuary??? This doesn't make any sense

Anonymous said...

Another question--will the trimester still end on the same day?

Anonymous said...

Relative to February 26, it is a work day for staff. We have to finalize all records for the second trimester and prepare for the beginning of the third trimester. It is a busy day for teachers.

cancellations are cool and all,but dont take away my early release.

WHY CAN THEY HAVE "PRACTICES" WHEN THERE IS NO SCHOOL???? LOOK AT THE WEATHER RIGHT NOW-2:45PM & THEY HAVE GYMNASTICS PRACTICE TIL 6PM!?!?!?!? IS IT REALLY NECESSARY??????? A CONCERNED PARENT

I sure wouldn't want to deal with this crowd on a regular basis. I think you do a great job! P.S. If you do not like the way things are here in Indiana, then back to Wyoming with you! I'm from Florida, snow days HA, but I would never to compare the two!

I agree there should not be any practices on days when school is closed. The spring musical has had practices both afternoons. If it is too bad for school, why is it still ok for parents to have to make two trips to the school to take kids to practice? This does not seem right or necessary.

If you choose to call a 2 hour delay the day before then why wait until 8 a.m. to cancel? If you are going to cancel try do decide a little earlier.

Safety first! I'm thankful for the wise weather decisions you've made these past few days to protect our kids.

I would like to say thanks to one of my fellow classmates for informing me yesterday that school was closed, especially after my brother and I were standing outside waiting for our bus for at least 10 minutes because the T.V. and the radio both still said that we only had a 2 hour delay.
So thank you Tyler Parker!
