Mr. Stock,
I'm sitting here in Accounting and I just want to say that you are undoubtedly my hero and you have the love and admiration of every student in this class. Goodbye and have a wonderful snow filled day.

Thanks.I know many parents appreciate this early dismissal for their kids who drive to school due to the weather.

will we have a delay tomorrow

Hmm...Pressure him into an early release, then the road start getting better as the afternoon goes on. Fact is they were probably better @ 3 than 1. Typical public overreaction. Good job everyone!

I disagree with last post. Where are you that roads are better at 3 than 1? In town somewhere? Obviously you don't drive anywhere on county roads. They're awful & partially drifted to one lane in spots. And I don't think anyone was pressured into ordering early release. The safety of the children is the point.Either you don't have any kids in the system or simply don't care. I for one appreciate the early release for my student!

To redeem yourself for your awful decision today, we need to have a two hour delay tomorrow please.

I just wanted to say a special "Thank You" to Mrs. Possell for calling me to make sure I knew about the early dismissal. She went above and beyond her duties to make sure that my son had someone waiting to pick him up when school let out. Thank you so much, Mrs. Possell!

Please cancel school tomorrow. I don't think that our children need to be out on the roads and go through another event like the one that accured today. Right now it blowing and snowing like mad. This is just a sign of things to come. So please, give us a day to catch up with the snow and ice. Thanks alot. Please consider this and make this the right decision. Thanks again.

Dr. Stock, I just wanted to tell you that you did a wonderful thing sending us home early! :) I think you're a great superintendant!

Maybe people should think about what their kids will do when they are all grown up and have to go to work when the roads are bad. Will they just stay home??? What do you think doctors and nurses do - or anyone else people rely on everyday?? Do they just stay home?? No they don't!!! Learn to drive slow, leave extra early, and maybe practice driving in a empty, snow covered parking lot in order to learn how to prevent some of these sliding accidents.

Maybe too, some people should think about what happens for some of these kids when they are sent home early or don't go at all for the person BEGGING for no school on Wednesday...
1-at all ages, go home to no one or left at home alone(yes that happens all the way down to KDG whether or not you want to believe it!)
2-kids going home to empty houses and 'living it up'-drinking, sex, etc etc

It is true that my first grade child was sent home yesterday and I was not aware because I was working and didn't have access to your blog or Channel 22.

Fortunately, a neighbor happened to check on my daughter because she knew I wasn't home.

If you are going to send the children home, it would be appropriate to make sure you contact the parents. It wwould also protect the school from liability.

I don't know what kind of kids you have but i think most of my friends were just excited to get out of school early to go sledding. nice guess though, i save that stuff ('living it up'-drinking, sex, etc etc)for the weekend. just kidding.
